“Rising above adversity”
As many of you are aware, I wrote about singer/actor and artist Zhang Zhehan’s struggles and painful real life ordeal in The Wild & Zany Galactic Adventures of Commander Zhang & Lieutenant Simon, Soul Mates who Incarnate on Earth and Save the World, Book 1 and 2. In particular I write about Zhehan being blacklisted in China by the China Performing Artists Association (CAPA), resulting in his career being forcibly taken away from him and his being turned into public enemy #1 overnight all without any due process whatsoever. Truly an injustice. I also write about how he surmounts all of his challenges and in effect, with his soul mate, “saves the world”. While the book is loosely based on real life events, the purpose behind writing it remains the same: to encourage others, including Zhehan.
True to life, despite the many challenges he’s faced trying to redeem his name and find his voice, this incredible young man continues to defy the odds and rise above adversity.
